Often I will be subjected to quick flashbacks of something that did not go well in my past. Before I have even have a chance to think about it I blurt out an expletive (&%#!@! is my favorite).
This seems to be about as far as my emotions go when bad thoughts pop up.
I don't let my past interfere too much on my present. I could wallow in self pity forever if I did let the past rule my life.
However, there are times when I will dig up a bad memory and look at it from all angles, including what I did (or didn't do) that may have caused the event. I let whatever emotions that were associated to flood through me and I relive the experience.
I do this so I remain humble and tolerant of others in all aspects of my life. It is difficult to condemn another when I remember so vividly of my own past.
There are far too many bitter people in this world who have let their past ruin their present. Instead of doing this use your past to become a better person and to guide those younger or another who may be facing similar circumstances.
Life is far too short and precious to be bitter and resentful, choose instead to become wise and congenial.
Feel free to borrow my cuss (&%#!@!) to quickly blow off bad thoughts that constantly plague you, but always remember to drag one of those bad thoughts into focus and learn from what you may.
Have a good day/night all!
